Dave Richardson made a strong comment on Indian umpires saying they are not up to world standards. For that reason, most of times Indian umpires fail to reserve their seats in ICC Elite Umpires panel.
Richardson quoted in Delhi:
It is high time for the Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) to take necessary initiatives for the improvement of umpire’s performance.
Asserting fair composition of ICC Elite Umpires panel, former South African wicketkeeper Dave Richardson who holds the post of ICC General Manager of Cricket Operation said that the international governing body gives priority on the performance of the umpires.
He added;
So far, Indian Umpires are concerned; they have not shown their skills. It is a big challenge for the BCCI to see that Indian umpires make it to the Elite panel.
It is now for you to decide whether he is right or if not, which Indian umpire in your opinion is better than the ‘elite’ umpires? Do let us know.

Dear V. Dhandapani, thank you for giving your constructive comment of this story. There is nepotism in the selection of umpires for the domestic matches. It is high time for the BCCI to change the current selection policy applied for the umpires. Besides it, the board should focus on the technical aspects for the improvement of our umpires’ standards. Otherwise, we will never see our umpires in elite panel.
