Duration of World Cup matches to be reduced

A unanimous agreement among the individual boards of the 10 full members of the cricketing world that the World Cup, matches should not exceed, five weeks is quiet, significant and appears to be a good move.

Citing this year's Cricket World Cup too lengthy the ICC is all set to restrict its duration, for times to come.

The present World Cup 2007, in the Caribbean lasted for nearly two months, witnessing major upsets and turmoil's.

Though Cricket is a popular game in the Caribbean, as such, the poor attendance of the spectators was not expected, much. However, the over priced tickets might have been the probable cause of low gatherings.

Cricket is viewed and enjoyed worldwide, but the respected and popularity especially in the Indian Subcontinent, is quiet noteworthy. The player's are even hero-worshipped here, but the early exit of cricketing nations like India and Pakistan totally marred their fans expectations, which usually gathers in large groups to support their teams, globally.

Pakistan coach Bob Woolmer's unexpected death to some extent did diminish the major event, following which, the attention of the cricketing world was diverted off.

Even the players and coaches complained the enormous stress and fatigue borne by them during the knockout matches.
