The ECB has sent a memo to all counties informing them that they will be unable to participate in the 2010 Champions League Twenty20 because of an unavailability of dates.

Finalists of the Friends Provident T20 tournament in England will not be able to participate in the multi million dollar CL T20. The decision was arrived at after the England and Wales Cricket Board decided they cannot accommodate the tournament a second year in a row by compromising on the domestic structure and schedule.
This means that the tournament to be held between the 10-26 of September in South Africa will not have England being represented although Sussex and Somerset were part of the extravaganza in the 2009 CL T20.
It is also reliably learnt that the ECB has asked the counties not to conduct any talk or matter of business with the suspended BCCI officials (read Lalit Modi) for fear of falling foul with the BCCI. Ironically the decision not to participate in the CL T20 is being seen as a way of telling the BCCI it cannot have its way.
