England were going to suffer without the resources of Stuart Broad. They were anyway suffering even with him in the team. Tim Paine only added to their woes at Trent Bridge in the penultimate match of the ODI series.

Trent Bridge saw the sixth ODI throw up a new century maker. Australia's young wicket keeper, replacement for the injured Brad Haddin, made the most of his opportunity and a confidence lacking England team to score his maiden century.
In yet another telling third wicket partnership, Paine shared his moment with Mike Hussey, who appears to be etching himself into some sort of form. Their 163 run stand did not allow England to entertain a thought of denting Australia.
In a sense, it nullified James Anderson's efforts from his brief break to take two key wickets, of Shane Watson and Australian captain, Ricky Ponting, only to find that Australia had one more brief partnership between Cameron White and James Hopes that accelerated the Australian innings in the final ten overs to push the total to 296.
Can England push past Brett Lee who comes in the match in place of Mitchell Johnson? Australia certainly did not miss Michael Clarke.
