Not taking chances against the erratic Pakistan pulling off a rare win against Australia, England have announced thier team for the first Test against Pakistan at Trent Bridge, Nottingham.

While Ravi Bopara missed out another opportunity despite the injury to Ian Bell, Tim Bresnan also loses out to the likes of Amjad Shahzad and Steven Finn to counter the pace of Pakistan.
National Selector, Geoff Miller, stated, "We have picked a very strong squad for the first Test against a Pakistan side that will be high on confidence following their recent win against Australia."
He continued, "We've been encouraged by the form shown by a number of England players involved in County Championship matches this week and those that are coming back from injury or rest, such as Kevin Pietersen, have been working very hard ahead of the first Test next week."
