The suspended IPL Chairman and Commissioner is determined to give himself a clean chit. But the BCCI keep throwing obstacles in his path. Now follows a third show cause notice regarding theatre rights and advertising.

Lalit Modi is expected to submit his response to the second showcause notice alleging at the behest of the ECB boss, Giles Clarke, that Modi was looking to form a rebel league.
However, the BCCI has sent forth a third show cause notice explaining the rights for theatres to show IPL matches live and also, with regard to the advertising revenue from showing ads between balls.
ESD ( Entertainment and Sports Direct ), a Mauritis based company, was awarded the theatrical rights at Rs. 330 crore for exclusive exhibition rights for audiences in cinema halls, stadia, water-borne vessels, buses, trains, armed service establishments, hospitals, bars, hotels, restaurants, airports, railway stations, shopping malls, offices, construction sites, oil rigs, clubs, auditoriums, spas and salons and other public venues.
There are also concerns within the BCCI about the revenue accruing from advertising which they claim to have never received, which is why Modi is being held accountable. The rights were awarded to former Sony boss, Kunal Dasgupta, who shared a good equation with Modi.
