FICA chief Tim May has expressed frustration at the handling of security arrangements by the IPL and also, is worried about the IPL attracting match fixing on a larger scale.

The chief of the international cricketers association (of which India is not a part) has slammed the IPL for not being more transparent about the security concerns of the foreign cricketers.
May stated, "The refusal to grant players the ability to review the security arrangements and the decision of the IPL and its franchises not to recognize or deal with any players' managers or agents, is self-defeating. Its decision-making is very arrogant. The attitude is that they're the only game in town, they're the biggest game in town and, as long as they pay these huge amounts of money, they can do what they like. That may not always be the case."
May feels that unless political divides are not overcome, there was no way a more cohesive Future Tours Programme could be formulated that could accommodate events such as the IPL and also, a Test championship that would eliminate "meaningless" bilateral series.
May is also worried about the growing incidence of match fixing that Twenty20 matches could attract and is echoing the sentiment of writers such as Peter Roebuck and concerns amongst the ICC itself.
