Andrew Flintoff's decision to become a freelance cricketer by rejecting the ECB contract has met with mixed reactions in England.

Former England captain, Michael Vaughan, warned against hailing such a move stating that there could be a problem if Flintoff sets a precedent where he starts to pick the tours he wants and decides against touring other nations as a member of the England ODI and Twenty20 team.
Sean Morris, Chief Executive of the Professional Cricketers' Association (PCA), has however stated that Flintoff has made the right decision because he has contributed the better of his cricket years to England now deserves to take his talent to other teams as a unique cricketer who has worked hard for his country to make a name for himself as well as the cricket team.
