Amidst the many proposals that the ICC has lined up, with or without the blessing of the Test cricket purists and aficionados, the cricketers themselves are making a few suggestions.

Andrew Flintoff, England all rounder, who has announced his decision to quit Test cricket at the end of the Ashes before the second Test at Lord's, has asked for Test cricket to be reduced in numbers in order to make it more special rather than another banal series. The view was previously endorsed by former Australian wicket keeper, Adam Gilchrist, who also recommended fewer Tests.
Flintoff has himself come under criticism by former cricketers such as Sir Geoffrey Boycott who feel Flintoff can now use his injury time outs and play for the more lucrative Twenty20 leagues such as the IPL. While Flintoff has acknowledged that young fans are tending to identify cricket with Twenty20, he believes by striking the right balance, perhaps the same could be lured towards Test cricket.
