Andrew Flintoff may have kicked up a row with a new term in cricket, that of a freelance cricketer. However, how long will this dream last?

Flintoff is currently in Dubai recuperating from the knee surgery he had immediately after England successfully won the Ashes. However, even as his manager his parading his star as one for making the rounds of Twenty20 clubs around the cricket world, and he himself has sent across a written agreement to play for England in the ODIs and Twenty20 even though he rejected the contract proposed by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), Flintoff is cautious about his chances.
Flintoff has stated that bowling has never been kind on his body and that another injury recurrence could well mean the end of the road as far as cricket is concerned. That is a grim prospect that teams surely do not want to consider when thinking of hiring Flintoff. Flintoff is currently contracted with the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL.
