The team has struggled recently...The standing captain Andrew Strauss has found it difficult to lead the team and has had mixed results... It lost the series against Sri Lanka and just managed to draw against Pakistan.
Andrew Flintoff who has led the team very effectively since Michael Vaughan has been out of the team... Had himself been out of action from July due to an ankle injury, is likely to make a comeback.
If he is back then he will be the man who will shoulder the responsibility of leading England in their defence of the Ashes down under.
I am sure if Flintoff is back to lead the team then England will fancy their chances... He is indeed a great leader and an influential player as well.
