In a brand new controversy involving Sharad Pawar and his family, it has been revealed that City Corporation made a bid for the Pune IPL team. However, Pawar denies that the person making the bid got the vote of approval from the board.

Pawar has denied the allegations that Deshpande made the bid in collusion with Pawar, his daughter, Surpriya Sule, or her husband but rather did so in a "personal capacity." Pawar also stated that Deshpande did not get the City Corporation board members' approval to go ahead with the bid.
Even since the controversies revolving around the IPL have blown up, the Pawars have vehemently denied an active role through vested interests even though their names have cropped up.
