The poor run of the Indian cricket team in the ongoing ODI’s in South Africa may have raged heavy criticisms in the country and there emerged two beneficiaries from the outburst - first Laxman found a place in the ODI squad and will also find a place in the Test team and the other is the most contentious cricketer in India, former captain Sourav Ganguly expected to be included in the Test squad that will play the Proteas.
Whenever there is a speculation of Price of Calcutta being renamed in the Indian team the best thing that he comes out with is, vibrant practice sessions and that’s what Dada is up to of late, he has given up the Bengal captaincy in the ongoing Ranji Trophy and has been sweating in the net in Kolkota.
The selection of the Test team to be carried out tomorrow was slated to be held in Mumbai, however, now it will be conducted in consultation with the BCCI chief Sharad Pawar in Delhi, Pawar will interact with the five selectors headed by the chief selector Dilip Vengsarkar, this is something unusual as normally the selection is the merely the selectors job. Does the selection committee have a solution for the mockery they made while selecting the ODI squad, getting over the selection criterion of domestic performance, giving an opportunity to the most deserving!! Or will it be another politically motivated outcome.
