Now the former Indian cricket captain Sunil Gavaskar is so pleased with the Sehwag's batting approach that he profoundly compared the Indian opener with Caribbean cricket legend Viv Richards.

Little master Sunil Gavaskar expressed that Sehwag's smashing 180 against West Indies was worthy of Caribbean legend Viv Richards.

Sehwag continuing with his aggressive batting style in test just needed 190 balls to score 180 runs which consists of 20 fours and two sixes.

Sunil Gavaskar who competed 10,000 runs in test cricket before retirement praising Sehwag's batting in second test said,

Sehwag played some shots that the original 'Master Blaster' Viv Richards would be proud to play.

Sehwag, the nightmarish batsman for the bowlers made his test debut in 2001 against South Africa. So far, he has scored 3,786 runs in 46 matches at an average of 51.86.

Gavaskar said that Sehwag has the incredible knack of making up for a lack of runs in previous games by getting big tons.
