The former Australian fast bowler, also known as Pigeon, has finally announced that he and his new girlfriend, the twenty-eight year old interior designer of Italian origin, are engaged to be married. The marriage would mark McGrath’s second marriage after he lost his first wife, Jane McGrath, to cancer.

Leonardi is already staying with McGrath and his two children in his Cronulla home in Sydney and has reportedly bonded well with the children since meeting them in Disneyland in Florida last Christmas. The romance has been alive for roughly a year with McGrath first meeting Leonardi in Cape Town, South Africa.

McGrath has also spoken since about his conflicted feelings when he did not think he could fall in love with anyone else but Jane, but realized he was miserable because he failed to acknowledge that he had indeed fallen in love again. James and Holly, McGrath's children, have remained his top priority.

There is reportedly a race between magazines for the exclusive pictures of the impending nuptials.
