There has been a lot said about Harbhajan Singh since Anil Kumble retired from the Test format with some of the opinion that it was the latter's absence that was causing bowling concerns with the Turbanator. He is where the duo formed a team once more.

Harbhajan Singh's talent cannot be doubted. But many wondered if the mentor value was lacking for Bhajji when Kumble retired. Although Harbhajan is an off spinner and Kumble a leg spinner, it was generally believed that the latter's seniority was rubbing well. But when the mantle has been passed on, some cricket circles believe Harbhajan is not quite ready to take on the mantle himself.

His struggles, aggravated by injuries, have made Bhajji come under the spotlight. But that he is open to constantly renew himself was evident in Bengalore recently when India played the second Test of the India Australia series to win the Border Gavaskar Trophy.

Harbhajan Singh is seen consulting with Anil Kumble even as the Indian bowling coach, Eric Simons, looks on.
