England fast bowler, Steve Harmison, who played his part in the Ashes victory of 2009 has stated that it was Andrew Flintoff who stopped him from announcing his retirement.

Harmison has denied rumours of a reported retirement to follow in the footsteps of Michael Vaughan and Andrew Flintoff, stating he was raring to have a go at the Australians if given an opportunity.
Harmison did get his opportunity to play against the Australians in the Ashes but he is no mood to hang up his boots yet. Although he contemplated what it would be retiring at the end of the Ashes, he says Flintoff was the one who dissuaded him saying that the only reason he (Flintoff) retired was because he was suffering from a badly deteriorated knee.
