There have been rumours afloat since the Kings XI Punjab have fallen off the radar in the IPL 3 season about Yuvraj Singh's reported unhappiness about losing the KXIP captaincy to Kumar Sangakkara or of his deliberating underperforming, all of which have been vehemently denied by Yuvi himself.

Now even as the KXIP are on a bit of a roll, again speculation is rife that there are plenty of takers in terms of franchisees including IPL 4's new teams and that Yuvraj Singh is equally interested in breaking away from the KXIP team for another.

Reacting to the reports, one of the franchisee owners, not Preity Zinta, but Amit Burman told media persons, "If he has given such a hint, what can I do? It's upto him. After the season is over, we will speak to him. But at the end of the day, you cannot force people to stay if they don't want to."

Indeed it will be a call the franchisees will have to take at the end of the season when they decide who they want to retain and which players would be willing to accede to it. The suspense, until then, will continue.

Back to the cricket, on the field.
