While the fans showed what they thought of the events of the Ferozeshah Kotla Stadium in New Delhi as the fifth ODI between India and Sri Lanka was abandoned, the ICC is willing to wait a patient game before making its decision public.

The ICC chief executive, Haroon Lorgat, has said that the ICC will take a decision based upon the report submitted by the match referee present, Alan Hurst, and then have the Chief Match Referee, Ranjan Madugalle, and the General Manager- Cricket, former South African wicket keeper, Dave Richardson, decide upon the punitive measures.
While stating that the process could take up the month, the ICC was taking into account that while the report is prepared, the BCCI will also be given an opportunity to explain what materialized on the 27th of December, 2009 and the time duration has been set for fourteen days.
The DDCA will be hoping for a greater leniency given that the Delhi Stadium could well see a ban for the 2011 ICC World Cup, although the ICC is not willing to make a statement until all is confirmed.
