Despite being ignored, the Indian women's cricket team is battling stronger challenges and have managed to make it to the first semi final against New Zealand. But there are more reasons why the women's Twenty20 has perhaps been a better affair for the ICC.

Suffice it to say that things have gone to plan. The ICC would have expected the men's teams to see a consistent semi final line up. But it is the ICC Women's World Twenty20 that has picked out the consistent names.
Unlike the men's ICC World Twenty20 in England, Australia, New Zealand, and India have made it to the semi finals. While India did suffer a loss against the England team in the earlier round, India will once again bank on Mithali Raj's form and Priyanka Roy's spin to help them get past the final knock out stage before the final.
From here on, it is an even battle, losses in previous league rounds best forgotten. Can the Indian girls bring home the cheer?
