Former Pakistan cricket captain Imran Khan has asked for an apology from Jamaican Police and former fast bowler Sarfraz Nawaz for suspecting Pakistan team for the death of coach Bob Woolmer.

The former captain rued that the entire Pakistan team was subjected to fingerprinting, DNA tests and allegations of match fixing owing to a completely wrong diagnosis of Woolmer's death on the part of the Jamaican police. He strongly pressed the PCB for suing the Jamaican investigating team and Sarfraz for defamation. He was strongly critical of Sarfraz Nawaz, because in his eyes he was the first one to point allegations against the team.
The cricket legend felt that Jamaican Police should have had more evidence before they raised suspicions of murder. Imran came out with his outburst after more evidential reports emerged suggesting that 58-year-old Woolmer had died of natural causes during the World Cup in the West Indies in March this year.
The entire episode started when coach Bob Woolmer was found dead in his hotel room. Initial reports suggested that he died of natural causes, but later on the case was seen having a murder angle to it. At that time, it was held that members of Pakistan team having links with match-fixing can be behind the murder. But now, after two and a half month of investigation, it is reported that Woolmer died a natural death, hence burying all suspicion that it was a murder. Tests now show the heavy-drinking coach was not poisoned either. He was likely under stress after Pakistan crashed out of the World Cup.
Coming hard on former Scotland Yard detective Mark Shields, who confirmed earlier that Woolmer was killed, Imran demands a stern action against the culprits after the latest report.
