India have perhaps their best chance of levelling the series when they take on Sri Lanka at the SSC in the second Test minus Muttiah Muralitharan and Lasith Malinga.

The two tormenting bowlers will not be seen in action in Colombo for the first time on India's tour of Sri Lanka. While Muralitharan retired at the end of the first Test at Galle with 800 Test wickets to ther name, Malinga apparently pulled up with a stiff knee that Sri Lanka do nto want to take a chance, given that he is returning from injury in more than two years.
It would mean that the no.1 Test team have the opportunity to redeem themselves from the misery of the first Test with Dilhara Fernando and Ajantha Mendis drafted in. India's concerns with revolve around Harbhajan Singh making a full recovery from the flu that affected his performance in the first Test and the return of Gautam Gambhir to form because they need his resilience in this fightback.
