Former Indian cricketer, Krishnamachari Srikkanth, was seen cheering Virender Sehwag from the balcony, surrounded by his fellow selectors on the second day of the third Test between India and Sri Lanka at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. That he was thoroughly enjoying the innings was a given, given that he stood up often, clapped hard, laughed loud, shared a joke or two, trying to whistle even and generally making himself the cynosure of cameras who could not capture the enthusiasm enough.
The dismay and the clap, now hard to come, told of how disappointed he was then to not have more Viru batting on the third day. Praising Viru's style of batting, Srikkanth stated that he had never seen someone bat that way against the bowlers since Sir Viv Richards of the West Indies. Talking of batting as if it was not a Test match but rather an exhibition game, Srikkanth could not praise Viru enough.
