India has scored 365 run after loss of 5 wickets at the end of first day play against Pakistan in third test at Chinnaswamy stadium, Bangalore. Though India started poorly as 4 wickets were down at only 61, but a stunning partnership of 300 runs between two southpaws Yuvraj Singh and Sourav Ganguly has led India to a strong position. Yuvraj scored a brilliant 169 of 203 balls. He struck 28 fours and 1 six in his superb inning. This was his third test ton, interestingly all against Pakistan.

Ganguly also scored his 2nd hundred in this series and was on crease at 125 with Dinesh Kartik who was on 3 when stumps were drawn. This is Ganguly’s 15th test hundred.

Earlier, Indian skipper Anil Kumble won the toss and elected to bat first. But after the early exit of four batsmen, his decision was under scanning. However Yuvi and Ganguly justified the decision of Kumble.

Indian side is playing without Sachin Tendulkar and M S Dhoni. Both star players are ruled out due to injury. Yuvraj and Gautam Gambhir were brought in their place.

For Pakistan, Yaser Arafat took three wickets while Mohd Sami dismissed two Indian batsmen, including Yuvraj Singh. Although unfit Shoaib Akhtar was playing, he has to left the field after bowling only ten overs.
This is the highest first day score by any team in India.
