A great reshuffle appeared as both openers entered the stadium with stretching their body. Opener pair was W. Jaffer and KD Karthik. Playing very patiently Jaffer showed an orthodox cricket with playing some classic strokes and scored 116 in 244 balls while on the other end Karthik too looked quite comfy and scored 63 out of 170 balls and Harris dodged him and lost his wicket.

Playing forward on the second day S. Tendulkar also played some hammered shots but again Harris victimized him at the individual score of 64 in 130 balls. V Sehwag was also to score respectable with rapid play and contributed 40(50) to the total score. However, after a good come back S. Ganguly scored an unbeaten 59 out of 70.
