With Virender Sehwag on the injured list, the Indian selectors decided to change the plans for the Indian ODI squad for the South Africa series a little bit.

Rohit Sharma need not think that the doors to the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 is closed yet. Named in the preliminary thirty man squad, he was not originally picked for the India South Africa ODI series.
However, Sehwag's shoulder injury seems to have inspired a few changes on the part of the selectors who have now included him in the Indian squad. Rohit's inclusion seems like an obvious move to bolster the batting line up should Mahendra Singh Dhoni feel the need to.
Another decision that seems to have prompted by Sehwag's injury is the late decision to retain Murali Vijay from the Test squad in a like for like replacement for the opener's slot. Vijay was last seen in the Test match that India won after Gautam Gambhri found himself injured and out of contention.
India's ODI squad for South Africa:
Mahendra Singh Dhoni (captain), Murali Vijay, Gautam Gambhir, Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Yuvraj Singh, Rohit Sharma, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, Ashish Nehra, Praveen Kumar, Munaf Patel, Ravichandran Ashwin, Yusuf Pathan, Piyush Chawla, Shanthakumaran Sreesanth.
