India slips in ICC Test rankings, despite historic series win

Team India has dropped from third to fourth place in the ICC Test team rankings, despite their historic 1-0 series win over West Indies after 35 years.

India failed to beat West Indies in a wide margin. For which, they lost two rating points to slip fourth spots from third. World champions Australia retains the first place while England and Pakistan are in the second and third spots respectively.

While Brian Lara's West Indies remain in the 8th position trailing Sri Lanka and New Zealand. They are in the sixth and seventh spots respectively.

However, Indian players are in good positions in the ranking. Skipper Rahul Dravid has retained the second spot in the batting list. For the first time, the young pacer S. Sreesanth broke into top 50 in the bowlers' rating. Virender Sehwag is the second Indian batsman to find his place among the top 20. He holds 16th position.
