India is keenly waiting for the final day with great expectation of sure win as heavy rains and overcast conditions in St Lucia halted fourth day’s play.

The tourists need nine wickets to post a resounding victory in the test series with the Indies struggling on 43/1. The hosts now require scoring 330 runs to avoid the innings defeat.

The visitors were heading towards an empathetic victory after restricting the hosts in 215 in the first innings and claimed the opener Gayle in the second innings. However, persistent rains drenched the Beausejour Cricket Ground through out the fourth day.

Umpires Simon Taufel and Asad Rauf inspected the outfield for number of times before postponing the fourth day’s play.
