India Will Continue Winning Juggernaut V New Zealand, Srikkanth Says of Team India

One man is very confident of India's success against New Zealand and that is none other than the chairman of the Indian selection panel.

Krishnamachari Srikkanth knows a thing or two about being confident. And he certainly knows that the belief in the Indian team is currently on a high. And he has no doubts that it will take them places, as early as the India New Zealand series.

Speaking after announcing the Indian squad for the Test series against New Zealand, Srikkanth commented to waiting reporters,

The team had performed extremely well against the Australians in both the Tests and One-day series. The Bangalore Test was icing on the cake.

Obviously the Indian selection panel chairman was still savouring the sweet success of the Indian team over Australia in the recently concluded Border Gavaskar Trophy.

He spoke of the balance within the team as well as the winning momentum of the Indian cricket team,

Our junior rung players have gelled well with the seniors while our bowlers have done a remarkable job. Going by this, we have picked the team for all the three Tests against New Zealand. I am confident that our players will continue their victory march.

Not wanting to directly put it but suggesting that India are better than New Zealand, Srikkanth remarked,

Our bench strength is good. This is a good sign for Indian cricket. Like it is said that the may best player win, I must say let the best team win.
