As if defeat in the second test was not enough for the West Indies team, now the team has received another jolt as captain Ramnaresh Sarwan, has been ruled out of the rest of the England tour with a shoulder injury sustained last week. This is a big blow to demoralize the side and adds to their misery.

Mike Findlay , the manager of the West Indies, rued,

Unfortunately Sarwan's injury will take approximately six weeks to heal and as a result he will not be able to take any further part in this tour. As soon as a decision is reached we will make an announcement on who the player is to captain the side.

Although stakes bend heavily for Darren Ganga who has led the side in Sarwan's absence during the second Test.

As is clear, frustration showed on Sarwan's face, he lamented,

I am very disappointed that I would not be able to continue on tour. But I have spoken with the players and wished them well for the remainder of the Test series and the Twenty20 games and the One Day Internationals. I have confidence that the boys will be able to rebound after the defeat at Headingley and give a better account of themselves and the team as a whole.

West Indies, are trailing 1-0 in the Test Series. They have two test matches remaining in the series to revenge the defeat of the second Test. The next Test begins at Old Trafford on June 7. After the Test series, two Twenty20s at the end of June, and three ODIs in July, will follow.

Sarwan will leave London for the Caribbean on Wednesday May 30.
