Even though Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf is sympathetic on his country’s national cricket team in the wake of ball-tampering row, the former bigwig players feel that skipper Inzamam-ul-Haq did not handle the situation properly.Among them, Javed Miandad is the forefront of criticizing the Pakistan captain.

Inzamam committed a blunder by not taking field following the ball-tampering row that ruined the fourth Test against England and scripted a infamous record in the cricketing history.

According to Javed Miandad, Inzamam had accepted Darrell Hari’s decision by playing the game until the break. Either he should have taken the decision immediately or have played the match under protest.

Miandad observed,

Pakistan committed mistake after mistake and put themselves in a no-win situation. If I were in Inzamam’s place, I would have asked the boys to play on. I would have played under protest and kept the door open for the appeal.

From my point of view, Miandad is sensible to make such a strong comment on Inzamam. In fact, Darrell Hair’s decision is deeply regretted by one and all. It is the primary duty of the International Cricket Council to look into the matter. By leaving ground in protest of umpire’s decision proves childish nature of Inzamam as well as Pakistan team.
