Hayden once again proved the stronghold of the Chennai Super Kings. But it was Badrinath who raced past him to take Chennai to a seven wicket win. Hayden’s forty-eight and Badrinath’s fifty-nine proved the major contributions that ensured a comfortable win.
In contrast, the Royals failed to keep up the momentum as their batsmen once again continued to struggle to make large contributions. Depending on Yusuf Pathan alone did not work this time and with Graeme Smith falling after making thirty, the Rajasthan Royals struggled to find another batsman who could bat them into a position of strength. The 140 then looked respectable but Chennai won it comfortably in the end with ten balls to spare.
