The Rajasthan Royals put up their poorer show in the IPL 4 yet when they played Kolkata Knight Riders for a second time in a week. If they lost to the KKR team at home, they fared far worse at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata as Shah Rukh Khan's team tried to win the fans over with an emphatic performance.

The Rajasthan Royals had themselves to blame as much as attribute their victory to the Kolkata Knight Riders' bowling attack. Laxmipathy Balaji played his first impressive performance for his new team, having been let go by the Chennai Super Kings, picking up three wickets including that of the dangerous Shane Watson and Ashok Menaria who was the top scorer for the Royals with twenty-one runs.

But overall the Royals batted without spine, and KKR continued with their choice of the Bangladesh captain, Shakib Al Hasan, who once again proved to be a valuable weapon picking two wickets towards the end after the Royals had painted themselves in a terrible light with two run outs to add to their woes as they slipped from four down for forty-three to six down for seventy-six to all out for eighty-one.

The Rajasthan Royals were encouraged to keep their hopes up when they picked up the two wickets of the man in form, Jacques Kallis, through Shaun Tait and Manvinder Bisla who has been playing well as well, the door was shut on them by the KKR captain, Gautam Gambhir who knocked off the remaining runs with a run a ball thirty-five in the company of Manoj Tiwary who went at a clip only slightly quicker to finish the match in under fourteen overs.
