The Rajasthan Royals' jubilation were brought to a halt with the Chennai Super Kings finishing another handsome match on their home turf in the IPL 4 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

The Rajasthan Royals lost their way after Rahul Dravid and Shane Watson opening partnership yielded eighty-six runs in the first ten overs of the Rajasthan Royals innings. Just when one thought that Rajasthan Royals would build a huge total, they would done in by some disciplined bowling by the Chennai Super Kings and also, through some poor shot selection on their part.
Rahul Dravid's sixty-six runs from fifty-one balls included forty boundary runs as the Rajasthan Royals kept early pressure on Chennai. With Watson making thirty-three runs, it was expected that Chennai would have a tough chase on their hands.
However, Shadab Jakati broke the barrenness of wickets by taking a caught and bowled off Watson and then came back to pick up the third wicket with the score on 109, that of the crucial Johan Botha. Albie Morkel contributed to applying the brakes on the visitors as well, accounting for Dravid and thereafter for Ross Taylor who looked promising on twenty runs.
The Rajasthan Royals' train had effectively derailed through the flurry of wickets and in the end, would have been disappointed to only post 147 runs off their twenty overs. The Chennai Super Kings though would have been on a high, patting themselves for keeping their cool and pulling things back half way through what seemed to be a tough match for them.
Murali Vijay was lost early to give Rajasthan Royals a flicker of hope. However, Michael Hussey and Suresh Raina, batting at no.3, ensured that the Royals would not get a look in thereafter. Seventy-nine runs to Hussey from only fifty-five balls and sixty-one runs from fifty-one balls for Raina with a six to each meant that Chennai were cruising to victory in emphatic style.
