The Mumbai Indians proved to be a dampener on the Royal Challengers Bangalore fans who turned up at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru for the IPL 4 clash. But cricket lovers had plenty to cheer about as Mumbai Indians went about their task in style.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore had their moments, after Lasith Malinga and Kieron Pollard rocked the boat with a wicket apiece to leave RCB at two down for nineteen. At that point, there was a danger that Mumbai Indians would take the RCB to cleaners like they did to the Delhi Daredevils in their first match.
But the Royal Challengers fought back to the delight of their fans. It came in the form of the third wicket partnership between Tillekeraten Dilshan and AB de Villiers that put the RCB in a better light. Dilshan's fifty-nine runs were backed by AB's thirty-eight runs. However, the RCB would have felt that despite the ninety-one run partnership that they had underscored with the 140 runs on board with only four wickets down.
The Mumbai Indians had an explosive start with Davy Jacobs making up for a poor first match with thirty-three spectacular runs that set the ball rolling. Even with his departure, Mumbai were in the safe hands of their skipper, Sachin Tendulkar, who played his part with fifty-five runs in a 110 run partnership for the second wicket that won Mumbai the match by nine wickets.
If Mumbai coasted to victory, that partnership had a huge role to play in putting the RCB out of the game despite the RCB captain, Daniel Vettori, putting ball after ball in the right spots to keep up his end of the bargain. However, it would not be enough to stop as Ambati Rayudu outbeat Tendulkar with sixty-three runs off only fifty balls to earn the respect of his captain for the Man of the Match award.
