IPL 4 qualifier rounds explained:
Looks complicated? Well, it is.
At first sight, it is obvious this is not a simple semi final that decides who plays the final. On the contrary, the plan has been devised such that the winner of the Qualifier 1 on Tuesday walks straight into the IPL 4 final on Saturday.
The winner of the eliminator round will be decided by the team finishing no.3 on the IPL 4 points table playing against the no.4 team on the table. However, victory here alone will not be enough.
The winner of the eliminator round will have to play a second match. This time the match will be the qualifier 2 wherein the winner of the eliminator will play against the loser of the first qualifier to determine the other IPL 4 finalist for the match in Chennai.
The IPL 4 leading batsmen and IPL 4 top wicket takers will have their final chance to add to their tally to end up with the orange and purple cap respectively.
It makes sense to finish on top as the Royal Challengers Bangalore did closely followed by the Chennai Super Kings. Winning the first qualifier is imperative so the next and final match in the IPL 4 is the final.
