The IPL 4 has not always been about the batsmen. In fact, some of the bowlers actually made a name for themselves and not just on the list of IPL 4's top wicket takers.

IPL 4's top wicket takers
1. Lasith Malinga - 27 wickets
Lasith Malinga has been, without a shadow of a doubt, the bowler of the IPL 4 season. And the Mumbai Indians will need the Sri Lankan bowler to come around once more as they enter the crucial IPL 4 qualifier stage of the tournament.
A striking fast bowler ( and not just for his hair), Malinga has been a critical weapon for the Mumbai Indians in their progress and it is evident from the gap he has opened up with the rest on the list.
2. Amit Mishra - 19 wickets
Amit Mishra is the surprise package on the list. But the spinner has been an unsung hero in many ways, even in the dying cause of the Deccan Chargers. A pity that the Deccan Chargers could not lift themselves more because with Mishra's wicket taking form and ability, they could have played more havoc than they flattered to.
3. Munaf Patel - 17 wickets
Shane Warne would probably want to take the credit for Munaf Patel with the latter having played three seasons for the Rajasthan Royals before the Mumbai Indians snared him at the IPl 4 auctions. However, Munaf Patel has been the silent cog in the wheel for India and the Mumbai Indians, even though overshadowed by Malinga.
4. Sreenath Arvind - 16 wickets
Sreenath Arvind has been the find of the season and yet again the Royal Challengers Bangalore have unearthed another fast bowler after Vinay Kumar who now plays for the Deccan Chargers. Sreenath has been a remarkable foil for Zaheer Khan, and even overtaken him in the wicket taking department.
5. Rohit Sharma - 16 wickets
Rohit Sharma finds himself unusually perhaps on the bowling record when his batting is the one considered his forte. But he has shown his bowling ability in previous IPL seasons, and he stands ahead of the bowlers who are all tied on the magical number of sixteen.
Bringing up the rear of the top ten IPL 4 leading wicket takers:
6. Iqbal Abdulla - 16 wickets
Iqbal Abdulla has been the strong point of Kolkata Knight Riders bowling and every time he takes a wicket, the heart goes out to this tremendous trier and persevering youngster.
7. Piyush Chawla - 16 wickets
Piyush Chawla is perhaps making up for a dismal ICC Cricket World Cup 2011. The Kings XI Punjab and Preity Zinta certainly did not mind his haul of wickets.
8. Ravichandra Ashwin - 16 wickets
The Chennai Super Kings have elevated Ravichandran Ashwin to the premier spinner in the side with Muttiah Muralitharan no longer with them this season. And Ashwin has responded how he has in previous IPL seasons - one worthy of the responsibility.
9. Ryan Harris - 16 wickets
Ryan Harris must feel aggrieved that despite his and Piyush Chawla's efforts, the Kings XI Punjab narrowly missed out on the IPL 4 qualifier stage.
10. Doug Bollinger - 15 wickets
Doug Bollinger does not know whether he will make the Chennai Super Kings' line up in the qualifier stage and that says something despite the bowler making a case for himself as a proven performer.
