There are logistical problems for the IPL franchisees going into the shift of the second season of the IPL from India to South Africa. One of the fall outs is the decreased number of players who will no longer be able to mingle with their international team mates.

Amongst the many things that the IPL franchisees will now be looking at as a result of this shift, team franchisees will now looking to be seriously downsizing on the number of players they either bought via the IPL auctions or signed on as replacements.
Last year more than one franchisee went berserk in signing on not only the top international cricketers, but a lot of local talent. It was a great opportunity for many of the youngsters not yet initiated fully into the domestic circuit to brush shoulders and pick up tips from their international counterparts.
But that will severely be restricted as franchisees will soon pick out a certain number of players that will make the trip to South Africa. This means that even though other players will still be signed with these IPL franchisees, they will play next to no part in enhancing their own personal assets because they will not have the opportunity to be in South Africa or in their respective team dressing rooms.
That was one of the goals of the IPL at the outset - opportunity for youngsters to mingle with the established stars. After the 'icon' failure, this is proving to be another unavoidable fall out after Indian Twenty20 fans have already expressed their displeasure.
