The IPL franchisees have decided they will form a union of their own as part of the discussions during their meet in Bangkok.

The Eight IPL franchisees have decided they will have a unified voice in addressing matters amongst themselves and in dealing with the IPL governing council and the BCCI.
The decision was announced amidst reports that one franchisee in particular, the Chennai Super Kings, were not in favour of expanding the number of teams in 2011.
The move was said to have been preplanned but failed to take off in the midst of the IPL 2 moving to South Africa. It has also perhaps been necessitated after the fracas between the BCCI and the IMG which was eventually resolved.
