Perhaps Jacob Oram would have overtaken the England all rounder in turning freelance cricketer given the number of injuries that have hampered his cricket career, more so in the last eighteen months.
Oram suffered yet another injury, that of the hamstring, during the 2009 ICC Champions Trophy in South Africa. New Zealand eventually lost the final to Australia but Oram's struggles have also been New Zealand's given that they have had to adjust to his absence.
Oram is now seriously thinking of his future and whether perhaps now only the IPL and the Chennai Super Kings will be his source of cricket and income.
