There is so much about Yuvraj Singh in the news, but not much about his present batting prowess on the field. The Kings XI Punjab will need it in the match against the Mumbai Indians in the IPL 3 as Kumar Sangakkara sits out with a one match ban.

Yuvraj Singh has been in the papers for steaming up the IPL post match parties with new girlfriend, Anchal Kumar (according to reports). And he has been making the headlines with the KXIP captain apparently making it known that he is upset about their batting and in particular about Yuvraj's.

Yuvraj Singh missed the ODI series against South Africa with an injured hand and there are unflattering comments about his having put on weight in the time away from the sport.
However, none of this will matter if he can turn around the lowly team's fortunes in the key encounter later tonight even as Sangakkara pays the price for the team having being docked for slow over rate on two previous occasions.
Apart from the super over match against the Chennai Super Kings (which the latter lost out during their befuddled batting), the Kings XI Punjab have become the Kolkata Knight Riders from last year's IPL 2, unable to change their losing streak, whispered dissensions about captaincy changes, reports of rifts within the team that Mahela Jayawardene is denying, his own batting under the scanner and the Mohali team's over dependence on their Australian recruits who have been missing in action. Brett Lee has made a comeback, but the team needs more than one performing member to turn around their dismal fortunes that have even wiped out the cheer from Preity Zinta's face.
