The Kochi franchisee may face elimination from IPL 4 even before a ball is bowled.

Shashi Taroor has apparently had enough of the scandal and conceded that his wife, Sunanda Pushkar, has given up her share of the sweat equity in the Kochi IPL franchisee bought by Rendezvous Sports World for Rs.333.33 crores.
The BCCI has warned the investors to resolve their issues and comply with the Companies Act if they wish to go ahead with their association with the IPL. The BCCI president, Shashank Manohar, had spoken out about there being two divisive groups with the franchisee that the BCCI would not be able to deal with.
Apparently the franchisee is squabbling over the share of sweat equity between the investors as also, the elevation of certain members to key posts. The problems are said to be so deep that rather than conceding to one party, the group may eventually choose not to have a cricket team.
There were also reports that Geoff Lawson, the former Pakistan coach, was signed on with the Kochi franchisee as head coach but his position remains dubitable under the circumstances.
Lalit Modi, the former IPL Chairman and Commissioner, apparently feels vindicated for posting on Twitter the Kochi ownership issues by again tweeting that he thought it surprising that the details should unfold themselves at the BCCI AGM and so late into the planning of IPL 4 when he had raised the topic so long ago.
Will the IPL 4 then be reduced to nine teams?
