The appeal by the BCCI and in turn, the DDCA (Delhi District Cricket Association) to reverse the one year ban on the Ferozeshah Kotla stadium in New Delhi has failed.

The ban was imposed by the ICC after the match referee Alan Hurst declared an unfit pitch for the fifth ODI between India and Sri Lanka in late December. Although it will not affect Delhi's chances of hosting the 2011 ICC World Cup matches, the Kotla will be in serious need of an uplift sooner rather than later.
All eyes were on Kotla even before the match with poor matches during the Champions League Twenty20 and now the Kotla will hope for a revival of fortunes when its next test comes in the form of the IPL 3 next month.
