In an expected verdict, the Ferozeshah Kotla stadium in New Delhi will serve a ban, but not enough to keep it out of the 2011 ICC World Cup.

The match on the 27th of December, 2009 was abandoned midway through the Sri Lankan innings after the match referee, Alan Hurst, dubbed the pitch as unfit upon the protests on the Sri Lankan batsmen.
There was a danger that New Delhi would suffer as a consequence of the proposed ban and would miss out on the 2011 ICC World Cup. However, the ICC has now cleared up the matter, keeping their own sentiments in mind, and handed Kotla a one year ban which means there will be no international matches held at the venue till the end of 2010.
However, the ban will not effect holding the IPL 3 as the Twenty20 tournament is technically a domestic event.
