The Deccan Chargers v Kings XI Punjab preview may not bill as as a high profile clash in the IPL 4. But it makes it one of the most interesting contests given that the two teams have inadvertently swapped captains as a result of the IPL 4 auctions.

It will be a strange reunion for the two captains in question as well as the teams and their IPL franchisees when the Deccan Chargers play hosts to the Kings XI Punjab in Hyderabad. That is because fans still unaccustomed to the IPL 4 shuffle will wonder why Adam Gilchrist is leading the Kings XI Punjab when he was the Deccan Chargers captain last year and why Kumar Sangakkara is leading the home team instead of tending to his own Kings XI Punjab which he took over from Yuvraj Singh.
The IPL 4 auctions have thrown up some rather interesting propositions for the IPL teams, with the addition of two new IPL teams. However, this is a direct swap, although not intended that way. Gilchrist had the Bollywood actress cum IPL franchisee owner's backing in that she feels that the spotlight on him presently is too harsh in a job he only just took over. But there will be little time to fall into the role as this will be as awkward as a contest as it can get and the cricketers will have to rely on their professionalism to put those moments aside and get on with the business of winning, imperative in the new form of the IPL that leaves the door open for all teams who can garner the points.
