Brian Lara has raised his voice against the national selectors blaming the selection policies are responsible for the team's defeat against India in the series decider-test at Jamaica. He has also indicated that if things do not go orderly, he will give up captaincy.

Lara is not satisfied the way the West Indies Cricket Board is handling the internal matters for the last couple of months. He has decided to raise the matter in the forthcoming board meeting this week.
He said,
It's painful what has gone on in the last couple of months, not just the test matches, but the one-day matches. I have West Indies cricket at heart, but if it's a situation where my reputation as a captain is being dragged down.
Lara got down heavily on the national selectors Joey Carew, Gordon Greendige and Clyde Buttas during the test series that they are not giving respect to his suggestions.
The lefthander explains that he was not allowed to take part in the selection process for the test series.
Based on the latest developments in the Caribbean Cricket, there is a speculation that Lara is likely to give up captaincy.
