The ICC Chief Executive has denied that the popular IPL can be given a place in the international cricket calendar.

Haroon Lorgat has ruled out the possibility of having a situation where the Indian Premier League will share independent status on the FTP, the Future Tours Programme.
Despite the demand being made by several international cricketers as well as player bodies, Lorgat stands on firm ground stating the status of the IPL as a domestic tournament in India. As it stands in the event of a domestic tournament, an exception cannot be made because it will then set a precedent for other cricket board to press for a similar scenario to give due importance to their respective domestic tournaments.
