India's highest civilian honour may be on the cards for Sachin Tendulkar.

The Maharashtra Chief Minister, Ashok Chavan, stated, in light of Sachin Tendulkar ODI double century in the second ODI in Gwalior in the India South Africa series, that there would be a move to push for Tendulkar to receive the prestigious Bharat Ratna.
Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Chaggan Bhujbal echoed the Chief Minister's views, "We will ask the central government to award Bharat Ratna to Sachin, who has mesmerised cricket lovers the world over. Even cricketers around the globe are saying Sachin has attained a stature higher than that of legendary Sir Don Bradman."
It was also reported that a museum is being planned to encapsulate his glorious achievements, a move that also apparently suggested by former Indian wicket keeper and selector, Kiran More, to the MNS chief, Raj Thackeray.
Wonder if the Shiv Sena, after deriding Tendulkar for his "Mumbai for Indians" will join the bandwagon because it will be more free publicity.
