It appears that Mahendra Singh Dhoni may not be doing his endorsement earnings alone. Instead Dhoni’s wife, Sakshi, may be quickly finding her feet through her husband’s lucrative deals as well. Ads today, acting tomorrow?

The Indian captain has been given time away from the cricket, which basically translating to missing the India West Indies ODI series before assuming the reins of the Indian captaincy once again for the India West Indies Test series. While Dhoni took the opportunity to revisit his home in over three months, that is not exactly where he is staying until it is time to catch a flight to the Caribbean.
Apparently Mr. and Mrs. Dhoni, aka Mahi and Sakshi, have been roped in to act together in a commercial obligation for the Indian captain that involves two wheelers. Although the endorsement deals are usually limited to the cricketers, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Sakshi will reveal their acting skills together as they shoot for the ad in Hyderabad.
Judging by the reasons behind bringing Sakshi into Dhoni’s ad endorsements, there could be more offers lining up for the couple in the near future. With Dhoni’s successful stint as the Indian captain and Sakshi’s young age and bright appearance that has captured the imagination of the shutter bugs, they could be shoving a few Bollywood couples for ads.
It would mark a move for the Indian captain’s wife since their marriage in Dehradun last year, coming up on their first year anniversary. Although the captain is yet to take a honeymoon break, Dhoni and Sakshi have travelled together on the Indian cricketer’s assignments. If this materializes, Sakshi could be looking at her own new career altogether, but perhaps raking in the moolah herself in the starry couple ads as has become the fad in recent times.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni is already on the richest cricketers’ list, pipping even Sachin Tendulkar on the number of endorsements. As his icon continues to grow, the induction of Sakshi should make it more interesting for those interested in more than just the cricketer’s on field antics. Sakshi meanwhile enters the high profile WAG league.
