The ICC expressed reservations previously about the feasibility of day and night Test cricket, one of the concerns being the colour of the ball. However, the MCC, headed by Tony Lewis and backed by Steve Waugh and Rahul Dravid, states that its successful experimentation with the pink ball in Abu Dhabi in England’s opening championship game is proof enough that Test cricket under lights can get underway rightaway to ensure its survival.
